Our 20-minute topic today is the problem of evil, and more specifically, suffering. Why do bad things happen to good people? And how could there be a loving God if there is so much suffering in the world? Wouldn’t an all-powerful, all-knowing, and all-loving God protect us from suffering and death? These are important questions in every age, and I think that they are especially pressing today for young people, many of whom have adopted an atheistic ideology or call themselves agnostic, which really just means practical atheism. Perhaps, if you are an atheist or agnostic listening today, you will follow up with me if what I say here does not fully answer your question about why we experience evil in the world if there is a loving God in charge. Will you do that? I’d love to hear from you. Seriously, just private message me on Facebook at EvangeliNation, or at [email protected]. |
