Join us in the Daily Prayer of the Paulines

Pauline prayer has 4 primary elements:
1) Daily Mass
2) Daily Holy Hour ("The Visit")
3) Daily Examination of Conscience
4) Devotional and Personal Prayer

In her collective consciousness, history, writings and prayer books, the Pauline Family holds a wealth of understanding about these 4 types of prayer. Why? Because Paulines are all about bearing witness to Jesus Christ, and how else can we do that except by regularly "visiting" with Jesus each day so as to bring Him to the world?

Prayer is absolutely essential for a truly Christian life -- for any real life at all in fact! Below are some of the simple prayers of the Church that can aid you in developing your relationship with the Living Lord. Simple as they are, if you pray them carefully, considering deeply their meaning, they can initiate a profound transformation of your mind, your heart, your relationships and your life.

Jesus, Divine Master, Way, Truth and Life, have mercy on us.

The Angelus
The Angel of the Lord announced to Mary
And she conceived of the Holy Spirit. 
*Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you. Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

V. Pray for us, Holy Mother of God
R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
Let us pray. Pour forth, we beseech Thee, O Lord, Thy grace into our hearts that we to whom the incarnation of Christ Thy Son was made known by the message of an angel may by His passion and cross be brought to the glory of His Resurrection, through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.

For the most pressing and personal intentions of our hearts
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy Name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Daily Offering
Divine Heart of Jesus, I offer You through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Mother of the Church, in union with the Eucharistic sacrifice: my prayers, actions, joys and sufferings of this day, in reparation for sins and for the salvation of all men and women, according to the special intentions of the Superior General, in the grace of the Holy Spirit for the glory of the heavenly Father. 

Act of Adoration
I adore You, my God, and I love You with all my heart. I thank You for having created me, made me a Christian, kept me this night, and led me into the Pauline family. I offer You my actions of this day; grant that they all may be according to Your holy will and for Your greater glory. Keep me from sin and all evil, and may your grace be with me and with all my dear ones. Amen.

Apostle's Creed In reparation for unbelief -- our own and that of others
+I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth. 
+I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day, he rose again. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
+I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

Act of Faith, Hope, Love and Contrition
My God, I believe in You. I trust in You. I love you above all things, with all my heart and mind and strength.  I love You because You are supremely good and worth loving; and because I love You, I am sorry with all my heart for offending You. Lord, have mercy on me, a sinner. Amen.

Act of Humility
Dear God, You see that our trust is not based on human actions. Through Your mercy, may the Apostle of the Gentiles protect us against all adversity, through Christ our Lord. Amen. By myself I can do nothing; with God I can do everything. For the love of God, I want to do all things. To God the honor, to me heaven.

Prayer of Thanksgiving - Recall all the gifts of your life
We give You thanks for all Your gifts, Almighty God, living and reigning now and forever! Amen.

Act of Surrender to the Will of God
My God, I do not know what will happen to me today. I only know that nothing will happen to me that was not foreseen by You and directed to my greater good from all eternity. This is enough for me. I adore Your eternal and unfathomable designs. I submit to them with all my heart for love of You. I offer the sacrifice of my whole being to You and join my sacrifice to that of Jesus, my divine Savior. In His Name and by His infinite merits, I ask You for patience in my sufferings and perfect submission, so that everything you want or permit to happen will result in Your greater glory and my sanctification. Amen.

To Overcome My Predominant Fault
Jesus Master, You have said: "Truly I say to you: whatsoever you shall ask the Father in my Name, He will give it to you." So, in Your Name, I ask for victory over my predominant defect (pause here to clarify the predominant personal fault you are working to overcome). Hear me, good and gracious Jesus!

For the Pope 
Let us pray for N. our pope: May the Lord protect him and grant him length of days. May the Lord be his shield and deliver him from all harm. May the Lord give him happiness and peace all the days of his life. Amen.

For the Superior General
Lord, be his light and protection. Give him your help and fill him with your blessings. Amen.

Novena Requests in Honor of Our Founder
Lord, glorify your priest, servant of God, Blessed James Alberione. May he be for all of us an example and intercessor in the journey of our sanctification and of our apostolic commitment. Open the ways of evangelization so that the presence of Jesus Master, Way and Truth and Life, may shine in the world through Mary, Mother and Queen of Apostles. By the intercession of Blessed James and in accordance with Your Holy Will, grant me the graces that I ask for at this time (name your intention).

For Cooperators and Benefactors of the Pauline Family
Lord, reward our cooperators and benefactors with Your gifts and with eternal life. Grant that with their work, they may give glory to Your Name. Amen.

For the Dying
St. Joseph, foster father of Jesus Christ and true spouse of the Virgin Mary, pray for us and for the dying of this day (or night). 

For the Apostolate
St. Paul the Apostle, our patron, pray for us and for the apostolate of the means of social communications. 

For Vocations - to be said anytime but specifically from 3-4 PM ET
Jesus, eternal Shepherd of our souls, send good laborers into Your harvest!

To Spend the Day Well
To be prayed for oneself and also for loved ones and others in need
Dear and sweet Mother Mary, keep your holy hand upon me! Guard my mind, my heart and my senses that I may never commit sin. Sanctify my thoughts, affections, words and actions so that I may please you and your Jesus, my God, and reach heaven with you. Jesus and Mary, give me your holy blessing:  +In the Name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Prayer Before Meals
Bless us, O Lord, and the food we are about to receive to keep us in Your holy service. 
Jesus, "bread broken" in the Eucharist, nourish us spiritually with Your very Life,
and grant that every day we may be able in charity to break the bread which Your Providence gives us.

Prayer After Meals
We give You thanks for the food which You have given us, O Lord. Grant us the grace to make use of it to do good. 
We thank You, God our Father, for this fraternal meal, sign of our communion, in fulfilling the work to which You have called us. We give You thanks for the food we have received, O Lord. Grant that it may sustain us in Your holy service. Amen.
