Today, I'd like to share with you a meditation written by Venerable Cardinal Francis Nguyễn Văn Thuận. Cardinal Twan passed into eternity in 2002, and his life was very holy. Because of his faith, he was imprisoned by the Vietnamese government for 13 years. And this is why this meditation is so powerful. His meditation is titled: Why We Need Not Be Terrified.
Fear as we know is counter-productive in the spiritual life. That's why "be not afraid" is announced so many times in scripture, particularly by God's messengers, the angels, whose encounters with human beings are recorded in the holy scriptures. Love casts out fear. Recall and never forget that in the end, faith, hope and love alone remain; and the greatest of these is love. Enjoy this brief meditation. |
